The Problem: Dangers & Effects Of Electrical Fires

Did you know that electrical fires cause a whopping 25,000 deaths in India? Or that 42% of fire incidents can be traced to electrical causes? Many of these fires result from faults or defects in electrical equipment, or due to the usage of non-standard products. These issues often lead to dangerous short circuits, which ultimately result in severe fires. Even worse, these fires spread so quickly that remedial action has very little – or no –impact on loss mitigation. Short circuit-triggered fires take the lives of 13 Indians every single day and also cause 8% of deaths in Indian factories. These facts provide plenty of evidence of how dangerous electrical fires can be.

  • 42% Fire Incidents

Are caused by short circuits due to electrical equipment faults/defects OR use of non-standard electrical products

  • 8% Deaths In Factories

    Are attributed to electrical causes

  • Harmonics

Computers and other non-linear electrical loads lead to electrical network overheating

  • Poor Connections And Earthing

One of the biggest causes of electrical fires

  • Voltage Surges

Come into play in heating of cables and equipment in the electrical network, but are not always obvious

  • Excessive Thermal Insulation

Overloads and excessive thermal stress with heating

  • New Loads

Short circuits due to design inadequacies, wiring mistakes and new loads on old wiring

The Solution: Electrical Fire Monitoring

Honeywell presents the world’s first Predictive Fire Monitoring System. This low-voltage/ equipment-safety early warning system reduces the risks of hazardous fires that may occur due to temperature variations, current leakages or short circuits. Backed by Honeywell’s world-class engineering and design practices, this reliable system empowers you to enhance the safety of your building’s electrical setup so you no longer have to worry about electrical fires or the potential damage they can cause to life and property. The system boasts intelligent, network-based operations, automation and continuous monitoring. It can detect current leakages and temperature changes of all monitored equipment, and display its findings to safety personnel. All in all, it provides a comprehensive, ultra-high-tech fire-fighting joint control system that modern buildings desperately need.
